A reimagining of a curved-court entry and an expansive back yard set on a triangular lot, with up-slopes and down-slopes complicating the geometry. The brief: a classic Mediterranean garden with designated zones for kids to play, poolside lounging, dining, relaxation, outdoor cooking, and entertaining — anchored by an ADU and multiple pergolas.

The site’s irregular shape was the design problem to solve. Softscape carries much of the resolution, softening the hardscape transitions and pulling the many functions of the design into one continuous reading. Each zone is given its own moment without the property feeling fragmented.
