This lawn-to-garden transformation includes an all new softscape design, including raised planter beds for vegetables and herbs, as well as fruit trees like peach, lemon and plum. With nearly a clean slate, save for some established existing Italian Cypress + towering Cedar + neighboring Redwoods along the fence lines, the full-sun space allows for a plant palette with movement and color.

Proposed plant material highlights: Agonis flexuosa trees and Pittosporum to provide additional soft screening along the fence, Cordyline ‘Dancing Salsa’ as vibrant pops of color, Muhlenbergia capillaris for light wispy movement, and a pathway punctuated by plants like Euphorbia to lead you through the space.

Working with Mindful Construction, Inc. on this project. Below are some before photos of the property + 2D renderings (All images via Mindful Construction, Inc.) and some progress shots after new pavers and a pergola were installed. Stay tuned for updates on the evolution of this space…
