This lawn-to-garden transformation includes an all new softscape design, including raised planter beds for vegetables and herbs, as well as fruit trees like peach, lemon and plum. With nearly a clean slate, save for some established existing Italian Cypress + towering Cedar + neighboring Redwoods along the fence lines, the full-sun space allows for a plant palette with movement and color.
Proposed plant material highlights: Agonis flexuosa trees and Pittosporum to provide additional soft screening along the fence, Cordyline ‘Dancing Salsa’ as vibrant pops of color, Muhlenbergia capillaris for light wispy movement, and Euphorbia in ‘Glacier Blue’ and ‘Ruby Glow’ to add texture and color while providing a living boundary between paver areas.
Below are some before photos of the property + 2D layout + plant selections + progress shots after new pavers, spa and pergola were installed. Working with Mindful Construction, Inc. on this project. Stay tuned for updates on the evolution of this space…
